Basic Yoga
This class is appropriate for beginners as well as more experienced students of yoga. The focus is on learning yoga postures in a supportive environment with ample direction and / or hands-on adjustments. This is a yoga practice suitable for all levels of experience.

Basic Yoga + Meditation
This class is appropriate for beginners as well as more experienced students of yoga. This is a basic level yoga class with additional time spent in meditation. This is a yoga practice suitable for all levels of experience.

Body Alignment Basics
This class introduces the basics of body alignment in accordance with the principles of Anusara Yoga. It is a graceful, flowing yoga practice merging heart-opening and biomechanical alignment principles. This class is suitable for all levels of experience.

Family Yoga
This class is for parents or caregivers and their children to enjoy yoga together. Postures will include those suitable for mom/dad to do with their infant and postures that are fun for older children and adults. Class fee includes one adult and one child (ages 0-11). The fee for each additional child is $5. Children 12 and up will pay adult class fees. You may use your class packages or the pre-authorized monthly unlimited (for one adult & one child). This class is suitable for all levels of experience.

Chair Yoga
This is a gentle yoga class geared for seniors, those of any age with physical limitations, or those who want to start yoga slowly. We will use seated yoga postures to stretch and strengthen all parts of the body. We will use the chair and other props as we do our yoga practice. Pranayama practices (breath work) will be included.

Prenatal Yoga / Basic Yoga
Yoga is an excellent exercise option anytime but especially during pregnancy. This class is open to female students, pregnant or not. The practice of yoga can help soothe aches and pains, reduce stress, teach you to relax and help prepare your body and mind for the stresses of daily life and/or the upcoming events of labor and delivery and the demands of motherhood. The focus of this class is on preparing for these events, releasing tension, maintain ing good posture, learning to relax on command, keeping a positive outlook, and clearing the mind of stress and anxiety. No prior yoga experience necessary.

Slow Flow Vinyasa
Slow Flow Vinyasa is a dynamic but slowed-down yoga practice with special attention paid to moving in and out of postures on the rhythm of your own breath. This is a heated, flowing yoga practice that is suitable for all levels of experience.

Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa is a dynamic, flowing yoga practice with special attention paid to moving in and out of postures on the rhythm of your own breath. This is a vigorous, hot and sweaty practice suitable for those with some yoga experience.

Vipasana Meditation
These sessions are lead by teachers from Deep Spring Center in Ann Arbor. Insight meditation, or, traditionally, Vipassana meditation, from the Theravadin Buddhist Tradition will be taught. Insight meditation is a simple and direct practice: moment to moment investigation of the mind/body process through calm, focused awareness. Through this practice we increase our ability to be fully present in this moment. The format for these sittings will be a series of short instructions, followed by sitting in silence and then sharing on the experience. The practice includes no religious ritual and requires no special religious beliefs.

What to Know Before Attending Class

  • Refrain from eating 2 to 3 hours prior to class
  • Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early
  • If you choose, you may complete an on-line new student form and submit it before your first visit
  • Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely
  • Please turn off cell phones and pagers prior to class
  • We encourage you to bring your own yoga mat, however, we do have a limited number of mats to borrow.
  • Optional: bring a towel, block, strap, blanket, eye pillow, bolster or anything else you use to enhance your yoga practice.
